What to Upload at M2
For Lease projects, the M2 design package should generally include:
- Production Model
- Shading Report
- Plan Set / Line Diagram
Make sure the uploaded files clearly show the required design information and are final versions for the project.
When Updated As-Built Plans Are Required
Updated as-built plans are required when there are major changes to the installed system, such as:
- Changes to module count
- Changes to module wattage
- Changes to module / inverter / battery manufacturer or model
- Modules moved to a different roof plane
- Modules moved to a new roof structure
When Updated As-Built Plans Are Usually NOT Required
Updated as-built plans are usually not required for minor changes such as:
- Racking-only changes
- Module movement within the same roof plane
- Electrical routing or BOS-only changes
- Other minor installation adjustments
Important: Some state-specific rules may still require updated plans.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
To avoid M2 delays or rejected documents:
- Do not upload only the proposal if the required design package is missing
- Make sure the Production Model is included
- Make sure the Shading Report is included
- Confirm the Plan Set / Line Diagram is final
- Review whether project changes are major or minor before submitting
