Follow this guide to link a preferred supply house to one of your installer branch locations in the Skylight Lending portal — a required step before submitting M1 Direct Pay requests.

How this process works

Go to Admin → Open Branches → Select branch → Add supplier company → Select supplier branch → Save

Why do I need to add a preferred supplier?

Linking a preferred supply house to your branch location is required before you can submit an M1 Direct Pay request through Skylight Lending. This tells the system which supply house you purchase equipment from so payment can be directed correctly. You only need to do this once per branch — it stays saved for all future opportunities.

Navigate to Admin & open Branches

Navigate to the Installer Portal homepage

Log into the Skylight Lending installer portal. Make sure you're on the main homepage before navigating to the Admin section — you'll need admin-level access to complete this setup.

Admin access required

You must have admin-level access to your installer account to add a preferred supplier. If you don't see the "Admin" option in the menu, contact your account administrator or Skylight installer support.

Click "Admin" in the navigation menu

Click "Admin" to open the administration section of the portal. This is where you manage your company's branch locations, users, and supplier settings.

Click "Branches"

Inside the Admin section, click "Branches" to see a list of all branch locations associated with your installer account. You'll add the preferred supplier to a specific branch here.

Multiple branches?

If your company has more than one branch location, you'll need to add the preferred supplier separately for each branch. Repeat this process for every branch location that uses a supply house for equipment purchases.

Select the branch & add the supplier

Click the menu icon next to the branch you want to update

Find the branch location you want to link a supply house to and click the menu icon (three dots) on the right side of that branch row. This opens the options for that specific branch.

Click "Add Supplier"

From the branch menu, click "Add Supplier" to open the supplier selection form. This is where you'll choose both the supply house company and the specific branch of that supply house closest to your location.

Click "Select" under "Preferred Supplier Company"

Click the Select button under the Preferred Supplier Company field to open the dropdown list of available supply house companies that are connected to Skylight Lending.

Select the preferred supplier company for this branch

From the list of available supply houses, choose the one your installer branch purchases equipment from. This is the company that will receive M1 Direct Pay disbursements on your behalf.

Don't see your supply house?

If your supply house isn't listed, it may not yet be set up as a preferred supplier in the Skylight Lending system. Contact Skylight installer support to get your supply house added.

Click "Select" under "Preferred Supplier Branch"

After selecting the supply house company, click Select under "Preferred Supplier Branch" to choose the specific branch or location of that supply house that your installer team works with.

Select the preferred supplier branch location

Choose the specific branch or location of the supply house closest to your installer branch. This ensures M1 Direct Pay payments are routed to the correct supply house location where your equipment account is held.

Pick the right branch

Make sure you select the supply house branch that matches your installer team's account. Choosing the wrong location could result in payment delays or routing issues on your M1 Direct Pay requests.

Click "Add Supplier" to save

Once both the supplier company and supplier branch are selected, click "Add Supplier" to save the preferred supplier to your branch location. The system will confirm the selection.

Confirm the preferred supplier branch is now linked to your installer branch

The Branches page will update to show the preferred supplier information linked to your installer branch. For example, if you selected "Houston, TX" as the branch for "XYZ Supply House," you'll see it listed under your installer's Main branch. This confirms the setup is complete and you're ready to submit M1 Direct Pay requests.

Your supply house is now linked to your branch location. You only need to do this once per branch — it stays saved for all future opportunities. You're now set up to submit M1 Direct Pay requests through the Skylight Lending portal.
