4. Fulfillment of NTP Criteria

General Overview & Disclaimer:

All Skylight Lending energy plan transactions require completion of certain administrative steps to achieve M0 (Notice to Proceed). These are standard and essential for each sale and are in place to:

  • Protect the homeowner by confirming their identity and payment commitment
  • Safeguard LR and Certified Installers by validating the sale
  • Ensure payment milestones are met promptly

The NTP (M0) status confirms the homeowner is fully qualified. It is the installer's responsibility to ensure the site and installation meet all Skylight Lending standards.

 

The quickest route to NTP is through the portal account. Web portal invitations are sent simultaneously with the contract via SMS and email, and can be accessed either through a web browser or by downloading the app. Portal link: Skylight.com

Details

Web Portal Account Sign Up

  • Borrowers will complete all NTP requirements via their account (accessible via web browser or via app download).
  • Sign Up invitation sent at same time as contract
  • Email -Or- SMS Link invite.

ID

All Borrowers must complete identity verification. The Borrowers web portal is the secure option to upload the ID for auto verification

  • Driver's license or other state issued ID card
  • Passport or passport card
  • Resident permit ID or green card

Title

All Borrowers must complete title verification. Most accounts will auto verify but if necessary, homeowner may be prompted to upload title verification documents through their web portal. Acceptable documents:

  • Original deed or deed of trust
  • Most recent tax property bill
  • Mortgage statement less than 60 days old

For Properties owned in a Trust/LLC:

  • Applicant must be a trustee/controlling member/owner.
  • Trust documents (or other official documentation) must be submitted confirming trustee/controlling member status
ACH

All Borrowers must complete ACH. The Borrowers web portal is the secure option to upload the banking information

  • Key in routing and account number
  • Instant verification on majority of accounts
  • Voided check verification, if necessary, on minority of accounts
    • Voided check must be from bank and be associated with the applicant/property.

Contract

The Skylight Lending contract is sent to the homeowners email via DocuSign

  • DocuSign subject 
  • Alternate signing option: Borrowers can sign the contract within their online portal account

A simple, non-invasive order summary.

Homeowner 'checks' key details of their Energy Plan and 'signs off' on their order details. This feature helps recap key order details and reinforces the sale. Completed in a matter of seconds.

  • After completion, a copy is emailed to the customer

Warranty Deeds and Quit Claim Deeds? Typically, most types of deeds are acceptable as long as they confirm the homeowner's ownership of the property where the installation is taking place.
However, Skylight Lending reserves the right to reject any deeds that do not meet these criteria.

Are Cash, Checks, and Credit Cards Accepted?

Currently, cash, checks, and credit card payments are not accepted. ACH is the only available payment method at this time, though Skylight Lending may offer additional payment options in the future.
